Abstract With the advent of new missions to probe spectral distortions cosmic microwave background with unprecedented precision, study theoretical predictions these signals becomes a promising avenue test our description early Universe. Meanwhile, axion monodromy still offers viable framework describe inflation. In order explore constraints on inflationary models based while aiming at falsifying this scenario, we compute predicted by model, revealing oscillatory features that are compatible Planck data. Further, up 10% larger than obtained from fiducial ΛCDM model and observable in principle. However, contrasting simplest power-law potentials challenges falsifiability as it would require reduce least 100 times current forecast error PIXIE satellite, which shall be possible some projected observational setups.
